NEW Sinfonia is delighted to be making our debut at Llangollen International Festival.Â
Massed choral and orchestral forced come together in a concert of remembrance for the fallen of Srebrenica, Bosnia and Ukraine. International performers share the Pavilion stage in a poignant reminder of music's power to unite and transcend division, culminating in a message of peace and hope for the future of all nations; returning to the light.
Lleisiau Llan, 200 voices from across North Wales join NEW Sinfonia for a concert honoring the Eisteddfod’s commitment to peace. Performers from Wales, Bosnia and Ukraine, including refugees, unite for a programme which includes excerpts from Karl Jenkins’ haunting mass for peace The Armed Man.
Also featuring: Ukrainian conductor Polina Horelova conducting the traditional Ukrainian folk piece River Song; and Emyr Lloyd Jones, dubbed the new Bryn Terfel, who won the prestigious Pendine International Voice of the Future at Llangollen 2022.
A spectacular concert which reflects the Eisteddfod’s ethos of peace, friendship and cultural diversity; thought-provoking themes of remembrance transform into hope, togetherness and the power of the human spirit to overcome division.
